The top of the flap should allow about 1” above the top of your pet’s shoulders and the width should allow about 1” on either side of them. Step-over (the distance from the ground to the bottom of the flap) is important to keep in mind when measuring for a doggy door for small dogs. Since the Endura is an extreme weather door, the flap is a little heavier than some others, which may make it more difficult for a very small dog to push through. The single flap would be your best bet, and magnets can be removed for training purposes.
