Please read instructions & notes thoroughly before installation.
Step 1 Position the Template
- Center the template in the middle of the door and tape it in place.
- Make sure to place the top of the template at least one inch above the pet’s shoulder height.
Step 2 Outline the Template
- With the template in place, use a pencil to draw around the inside edge of the template onto the door.
- You can use a nail to mark the screw holes.
Step 3 Drill the Outer Holes
- Drill four outer screw holes.
Step 4 Make the Rough Cutout
- Mark and drill 4 starter holes on the inside corners.
- Using a saw, cut along the inside edge of pencil line.
Step 5 Insert the Outer Frame
- Insert the outer frame into the exterior opening (frame must be flush with door surface).
Step 6 Insert Inner Ring
- Place the inner beauty ring into the opening from the interior door and hold in place.
- Install the screws and tighten until snug.
Step 7 Adjust the Lock
- Using the red dial on the door, adjust the locking mechanism to the setting you prefer.
How to Connect and/or Replace the Battery
Step 1: Remove the screw on the battery panel. Remove the panel.
Step 2: Insert the supplied battery into the plug and then into the compartment.
Step 3: Replace the panel and reattach the screw. It is recommended to change your battery every 6 months.

Doesn’t always unlock

Got it installed in a metal garage door. The unit functions correctly but our cat is very suspicious and we have not been able to convince her yet. The game continues
Alright for the price
Like the other reviews have stated, your cat will need to be pretty close to the door to trigger the lock mechanism. It's alright for the price, but would probably recommend it more for cats that don't bolt out the door at full speed.

Works ok. Like the size. The sensor can be sensitive The collar key has to touch the sensor for the door to unlock. Do not recommend for dogs unless they're very calm and smart enough to be trained on how to use.

It doesn't trigger all the time, collar has to be right up on it.
