Product Details
The Hale pet door replacement flaps are made of clear, flexible vinyl, and includes the strikes riveted onto the flap plus new frame magnets and weather stripping. They provide the same insulation value as the flap(s) that came with your original Hale dog or cat door. All installation hardware is included. Training flaps do not have strikes and are cut into strips to make it easy for your pet to use during training.
If you are unsure of your flap dimension, measure the outside frame to get an accurate measurement. Use the size chart for all flap measurements. This is also the information needed if you have a custom dimension door, as we'll need to make the correct size pet door for you. Contact customer service to order a custom-sized Hale pet door flap replacement. Please note, any flap larger than a Giant Hale pet door size will not be covered by warranty.
For a single flap Door, Wall, Panel and Sash models: you will need to choose the outside mount version in the menu.
For double flap Door, Wall, Panel and Sash models: you can replace the inside and/or outside (or both), depending on which ones need replacing.
For Screen pet door models you will choose the inside mount.
For Single pane Through Glass models you will choose the inside mount.
If adding an extra flap to convert from a single flap to a double flap: you will need to order the inside mount.
Training flaps are intended for temporary use while the pet is getting used to their new door. We recommend these flaps for more timid, reluctant pets. Each one consists of thin vinyl strips with no real sealing capability. They are easier to use but should be replaced with a standard flap for better insulation performance when training is complete. They do not include any of the extra hardware that comes with standard flaps.

Step 1 Remove the Old Flap
- Remove the screws at the top of the old flap and pull down on the flap to remove it from the frame.
Step 2 Replace the Weatherstripping
- While the flap is out, replace the black weather-stripping if needed. Grasp the old weather-stripping by the aluminum holder with a pair of pliers.
- Wiggle the pliers a little to loosen the holder and pull it out.
- Alternately, you can use a mallet and screwdriver to tap the weather-stripping out of the frame.
- Place the new piece of weather-stripping in the channel and tap in with a screwdriver handle.
Step 3 Replace the Magnets
- The magnets are pressure fitted into the frame and can be replaced if necessary.
- They are adjustable by prying out with a screwdriver or pliers or by tapping in with a standard screwdriver and mallet.
- Replace magnets, if desired, and tap or twist into the proper position in relation to the flap.
Step 4 Insert the New Flap
- Insert the new flap into the top channel where the old flap was removed.
- The metal bar at the top should be facing the screw holes.
Step 5 Adjust Flap Alignment
- Before drilling, adjust flap alignment so that the strikes align with the magnets and the flap is level and swings freely.
Step 6 Insert the Screws
- Using the screw holes as a guide, drill a short distance into the metal bar on top of the new flap with the 7/64" drill bit.
- Insert the new screws into the holes and tighten.

Be sure to pack the product well as we can only give 50% credit for a damaged pet door.
HSPD Manufacturing, Inc. guarantees and warrants, subject to the conditions and restrictions stated below, that the Hale Pet Door™ products and component parts thereof, purchased from HSPD Manufacturing, Inc. shall be free from any defects in materials and workmanship. The warranty period for all Hale Pet Door™ model pet doors is effective from the date of purchase and extends to the anniversary date marking the end of the fifth year. We agree to exchange or repair at our expense, F.O.B. our plant or warehouse any unit found to be defective in workmanship and/or material, subject to plant inspection. (See notes A and B below).
1st year – 100% of all parts and labor; 2nd year – 50% of all parts and labor; 3rd year – 40% of all parts and labor; 4th year – 30% of all parts and labor; 5th year – 20% of all parts and labor.
This warranty does not include shipping to HSPD Manufacturing, Inc. or any field service labor unless the product was installed by Hale Pet Door™.
A-Glass Breakage: We use fully tempered glass of the greatest quality and strength available for each application. It also meets or exceeds all safety glazing laws and codes in the United States. Even tempered glass will break on occasion, but it is very rare. When there is a breakage of glass for whatever reason, within the FIRST YEAR, we will replace the unit for 50% of the current total price. There is no warranty on the glass after the first year.
B-Parts Damaged by Misuse or Neglect: HSPD Manufacturing, Inc. will pay 20% of the cost of the current list price of parts and labor. No reimbursement shall be greater than the price of the replacement part.
C-Omni Oversize Panels: This application is not recommended. Therefore, we will only warranty 50% of the cost of the panel for the first year. However, the pet door itself is covered per our standard warranty.
HSPD Manufacturing, Inc. will credit 50% towards the cost of a replacement Hale Pet Door™ that was damaged due to mis-cutting, mismeasuring, or any other damage due to no fault of HSPD Manufacturing, Inc. HSPD Manufacturing, Inc. will not accept any responsibility beyond 50% if the damage is due to no fault of HSPD Manufacturing, Inc. HSPD Manufacturing, Inc. reserves the right to inspect any and all products before honoring any claim.

Perfect fit, great instructions, all the spare parts you could need.
This kit has everything you might need and is packaged well. The instructions are clear and easy-to-follow. The hardest part is getting your body down to the pet's level, but once there the installation wasn't terribly difficult. The appearance after replacing the flap is much improved, as is the insulation factor! I would have done this chore long ago, if I had known it was this easy.

Perfect solution for my neurotic cocker spaniel!
"Murphy" was scared to death of the regular flaps on our Hale door so we were forced to leave it open, unflapped. Finally, I decided to try the training flap. It worked like a charm. Murphy had been afraid of the magnets and the sound they made when the flaps closed. Now he goes in and out with absolutely no problem. Hopefully we can now slowly move back to the regular flaps.
They work as I expected which is great.
The second flap had issues with putting in the magnets. Took tons of pounding as opposed to the first flap.
