4 Beach-Friendly Hairstyles With Bucket Hats

1

Bucket hats haven’t made a comeback, the trend-gone-classic has been here for years.

Born in the 80s, the popular sunny-day accessory has transcended the summer season. Corduroy, fuzzy, and cotton versions are cycled throughout the year, making bucket hats a fashion staple.

With summer back in full force, dust off your beach-y bucket hats and head out to the water! These bucket hat hairstyles deliver cuteness with coverage against strong sun rays. Plus, keep these versatile styles in your arsenal for seasons to come.

Look #1: Bucket hat with bangs

If you’re on the fence about getting some fringe, take a chance and make the cut. Bucket hats and bangs go together like hot days and ice cream. Add a few spritzes of a volume-inducing texture spray throughout dry hair and bangs for seaswept results. Pop on your bucket hat and flip up the brim to show off your new style.

Look #2: Bucket hat with bubble ponytails

Bubbly on the beach? Yes, please. I’m talking about hair, but by all means safely enjoy a cold one with this fun style. First, apply a defining leave-in cream to nourish strands while you soak up the sun. Part your hair down the middle and gather into two low ponytails. To create the bubble effect, section your ponytail using small hair elastics. Move about 4 inches down your ponytail and add an elastic. Move 4 more inches down and add another. Continue the process until you near the end of each ponytail, and secure the last elastic leaving your ends free. Wear a vibrant bucket hat to complete this protective style.

Look #3: Bucket hat with braids and beach waves

If your hair is still wet from the beach, towel dry and apply a detangling spray. Follow with a leave-in styling cream to counteract the drying effects of sun and salt water.

Part hair to your desired side and separate a small section of hair nearest your face. From these sections, create two braids and secure them with a small elastic to frame your face. Add your bucket hat for an effortless, beach-y result.

Look #4: Bucket hat with double buns

Double the bun, double the fun. Part your hair to your preferred side, and be sure to leave out tendrils to frame your face. Spritz on a wave spray that provides UV protection to enhance natural waves and gather your hair into two low ponytails, secure with an elastic. Wrap your hair around each elastic to create two buns and secure with another elastic. Fluff out each bun for more volume. Finish the look with a patterned bucket hat.
